Note: The package does not include sawdust and you can purchase sawdust at your local store. What should you do if the sawdust keeps going out? Use a small kitchen burner to light the wood chips. You need to burn it for about 15 minutes (re-ignite as needed during this time) to keep the flame and gently blow it out. In less than 15 minutes, there is not enough flame to move on. If the wood chips are wet, the water can be extracted in a microwave for about one minute. During cold smoking, be sure to lift the lid and check the food every hour. This allows fresh oxygen to enter, which will stimulate the smoking process.
